SEQUOIAS >> Knowledge of the Unity of Divine Revelations
The great Sequoias of California are arranged by Dr. Gray between the cedars of Lebanon and the cypress. Their prodigious height and size and very great longevity indicate their correspondence with vast and comprehensive ideas, including all planes of human life; and their discovery on the extreme west of the continent, as the wave of habitation completed the circuit of the earth, suggests the unity of mankind as the possible subject. May it not be that the larger of the two species represents a knowledge of the unity of Divine revelations; and the smaller, the unity of the Churches or races formed by these revelations?
